Yes, I admit it… but just a little. (I’m mostly rock ‘n roll — among a lot of other things. 🙂 )
There are a handful of country and folk songs I indulge in from time to time (like, say, when I’m avoiding listening to my usual all-time favorite songs and bands)… and here are a few of them, in no particular order. What else can I say? I like troubadours….
“Did you ever miss me, ever long to kiss me?”
“If you think I don’t care, then you’re mistaken….”
“You keep leaving notes stuck on my door,
I guess you’re hungry for some more….”
“I have fallen for you and I know just why
you like the rain….”
“And I need you more than want you…
and I want you for all time.”
“Just like an old-time movie
about a ghost from a wishing well….”
“All the things that we felt, must eventually melt and fade,
like the frost on my windowpane….”
“And as I go through my life, I will wish….”
“I can’t say you hurt me,
when you never let me near….”
“Save my love through loneliness, save my love through sorrow.
I’ve given you my only-ness, give me your tomorrow.”
“What a wicked thing to say… you never felt this way.
What a wicked thing to do… to make me dream of you.“
“And as you walked away,
the echo of my words cut just like a knife….'”
“Losing him was blue like I’ve never known.
Missing him was dark gray, all alone….”
I will end here, as I think I just put you to sleep. 😉
