Well, you may not believe this (based on my prior rehearsal notes), but… I am actually kinda liking my dance partner this season. He has a subtle sense of humor that made me burst out laughing in rehearsal many times tonight… although I’m sure it wouldn’t seem funny if I tried to explain it to you.
I was basically cracking up through the entire rehearsal, which is an hour-and-a-half long. (Remember, I don’t get out much (since I work about 96 hours a week), so this is about as funny as my life gets. It’s actually the most I’ve laughed all year, probably.)
My dance partner even told me at one point not to laugh so much because I’d get him in trouble with the artistic director. Sigh.
Anyway, I tried my best to be good, but every time I looked at his face, I burst out laughing again from something he’d said or done earlier.
After the rehearsal, when we were all getting ready to leave, I thanked his wife for letting me dance with him. She told me I was welcome, but….
I think I’m going to need to start thinking of some sad things to keep in mind while I’m on the dance floor, just to get through our rehearsal sessions without any issues.
