A poem… from my “bedroom drawer” archives….

I wrote this quite a while ago…. It’s a song really, but it has no melody. So… if you’d like to add the music to it, by all means… please share your musical thoughts. 🙂

She Sleeps…

© CATHSK, 3 October 2000

She sleeps on feathers that no longer fly
She asks for your love, but gets no reply
The bells are ringing, it’s time to wake
She opens her eyes and she’s too late

She doesn’t know just where you go
But she knows she wants to follow
Her heart is free, as it should be,
And she wants you to share the moment

The morning’s lost to fading sun
As clouds roll in, her hope is gone
Your voice is singing in her head
She wants you in her arms instead

She doesn’t know just where to go
But it’s you she’s looking for
Her heart is free, where it should be,
And you’re not here to share the moment

She sleeps on feathers that long to fly
She touches the ceiling and wants the sky
The bells are ringing, it’s much too soon
She’s lost in dreaming of being with you

She doesn’t know how far you’d go
But it’s you she’s waiting for
Her heart is free and she longs to be
Caught up with you in a moment

She sleeps
She dreams
She waits
For you
