My new kitten loves cupcakes.

Yes, I know she’s not supposed to eat them… and please believe me when I say that I am not feeding them to her. I’m just saying… there were yellow cupcakes in the house recently, and when she found the wrapper that had been around one of them… she was quite pleased with her discovery and ended up licking all the crumbs off it. She then attempted to eat the paper, as well — presumably because it still tasted of cupcake. Within seconds, I managed to pull it out of her throat. (Gag.)

A couple days later, she located and licked a few more crumbs from yet another discarded cupcake wrapper. That time, I took it away from her before she could eat the paper. Phew!

Now, does little kitty’s wayward liking of cupcakes mean that there will no longer be cupcakes in the house? Umm, not likely. But, I suppose I will be disposing of the household’s cupcake wrappers more securely from now on…

P.S. For the record, I am the one who ate all the icing and sprinkles that were on top of the cupcake — not Miss Pumpkin Cat.
