CRAFT: Magic Wand from Garden Objects

TURN SOMETHING ORDINARY INTO SOMETHING QUITE ENCHANTING
Looking for a less rustic wand? Make a shinier wand.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
– A sturdy stick from your yard, about 18” long and 1/4″ to 1/2″ thick; alternatively, you could use a bamboo plant stake
– An assortment of small rocks and/or large chunks of wood mulch, or glass beads
– 4 lengths of twine, 24” long each
– 6 burlap strips, 1” wide by 24” long each

YOUR GARDEN WAND IS JUST A FEW QUICK STEPS AWAY:
1/ Wrap each end of each length of twine around a rock (or mulch chip/beads), securing it with a tight knot so that the rock doesn’t slip off the string.

2/ Lay each length of twine in front of you, horizontally, with together. Then lay your stick down in front of you, vertically, so that the top 4 inches of it is centered and at the top of the rows of twine.

3/ Tightly tie each length of twine around the stick.

4/ Now, lay each length of burlap in front of you, horizontally, with together. Then lay your stick down in front of you, vertically, so that the top 4 inches of it is centered and at the top of the rows of burlap.

5/ Tightly tie each length of burlap around the stick.

6/ Ta-da! You’re done.

Now go whip up some magic!
